A
competitively priced SATCOM solution, the new AirCell
ST 3100 Telecommunications System is a compact and
light system that offers worldwide voice and data
communication through the Iridium® Satellite network
of 66 low-earth orbiting (LEO) satellites.
Now, whether you are on the ground or in the air, you
can place and receive calls to or from any telephone
number in the world.
Besides
high quality voice communications, the ST 3100
supports RS 232 data functions. These data functions
provide the ability to make an Internet dial up
connection to access email and Web sites.
In
addition to global coverage, the ST 3100 provides
improved communications between the cabin and cockpit
with enhanced audio intercom and conference calling
features. The ST 3100 offers extensive installation
flexibility, the remote-mounted transceiver can be
either rail- or rack-mounted outside the aircraft’s
pressure vessel.
AirCell
provides a wide range of antenna and handset options
to meet mission and aesthetic requirements. Handset
options include several corded and a new cordless
configuration. Designed and tested to provide cordless
operation throughout the largest aircraft cabins, the
new AirCell cordless rechargeable handset is flush
mounted and is a drop-in replacement for AirCell
flush-mounted corded handsets. All handsets are
available in black, beige and gray.
With
this level of connectivity and features, AirCell has
once again set the standards for cost-effective, high
quality aircraft telecommunications.

The
revolutionary, dual network AST 3500 airborne
telecommunications system provides a unique
combination of AirCell’s cellular network and the
Iridium satellite network to provide the best value
in aircraft telecommunications.
The AST 3500 accesses the AirCell ground-based
network and the Iridium satellite network to provide
unprecedented efficiency in airborne
telecommunications service. Using AirCell’s
patented airborne cellular technology, the system
provides telephone, fax, e-mail, data and weather
information to the cockpit virtually anywhere in the
continental United States. Using the system’s
Iridium transceiver, the AST 3500 provides access to
the Iridium Satellite LLC’s global network of low
earth orbit (LEO) satellites that provide seamless
worldwide SATCOM telephone and data services. Both
networks feature air-to-ground and ground-to-air
operation. The networks can be used independently or
the AST 3500’s integrated dual network capability
provides the unique ability to initiate or receive
telephone calls through the Iridium Satellite
network, while simultaneously sending or receiving
data through the AirCell cellular network.
In addition to high quality voice communications,
the AST 3500 supports RS 232 data functions. These
data functions provide the ability to make an
Internet dial up connection, access e-mail and when
in AirCell network coverage, access the latest
NEXRAD weather using an iPAQ Personal Digital
Assistant.
AirCell provides a wide range of antenna and handset
options to meet mission and aesthetic requirements.
Handset options include several corded and a new
cordless configuration. Designed and tested to
provide cordless operation throughout the largest
aircraft cabins, the new AirCell cordless
rechargeable handset is flush mounted and is a
drop-in replacement for AirCell flush-mounted corded
handsets. All handsets are available in black, beige
and gray.
With this level of connectivity and features,
AirCell has once again set the standards for
cost-effective, high quality aircraft
telecommunications.
