A competitively priced SATCOM solution, the new AirCell ST 3100 Telecommunications System is a compact and light system that offers worldwide voice and data communication through the Iridium® Satellite network of 66 low-earth orbiting (LEO) satellites.
Now, whether you are on the ground or in the air, you can place and receive calls to or from any telephone number in the world.

Besides high quality voice communications, the ST 3100 supports RS 232 data functions. These data functions provide the ability to make an Internet dial up connection to access email and Web sites.

In addition to global coverage, the ST 3100 provides improved communications between the cabin and cockpit with enhanced audio intercom and conference calling features. The ST 3100 offers extensive installation flexibility, the remote-mounted transceiver can be either rail- or rack-mounted outside the aircraft’s pressure vessel.

AirCell provides a wide range of antenna and handset options to meet mission and aesthetic requirements. Handset options include several corded and a new cordless configuration. Designed and tested to provide cordless operation throughout the largest aircraft cabins, the new AirCell cordless rechargeable handset is flush mounted and is a drop-in replacement for AirCell flush-mounted corded handsets. All handsets are available in black, beige and gray.

The revolutionary, dual network AST 3500 airborne telecommunications system provides a unique combination of AirCell’s cellular network and the Iridium satellite network to provide the best value in aircraft telecommunications.
The AST 3500 accesses the AirCell ground-based network and the Iridium satellite network to provide unprecedented efficiency in airborne telecommunications service. Using AirCell’s patented airborne cellular technology, the system provides telephone, fax, e-mail, data and weather information to the cockpit virtually anywhere in the continental United States. Using the system’s Iridium transceiver, the AST 3500 provides access to the Iridium Satellite LLC’s global network of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites that provide seamless worldwide SATCOM telephone and data services. Both networks feature air-to-ground and ground-to-air operation.The networks can be used independently or the AST 3500’s integrated dual network capability provides the unique ability to initiate or receive telephone calls through the Iridium Satellite network, while simultaneously sending or receiving data through the AirCell cellular network.
In addition to high quality voice communications, the AST 3500 supports RS 232 data functions. These data functions provide the ability to make an Internet dial up connection, access e-mail and when in AirCell network coverage, access the latest NEXRAD weather using an iPAQ Personal Digital Assistant.
